The 14th Annual Mathletes in Action Competition will take place on October 14, 2017 at the Witte Museum.



The 14th Annual Mathletes® in Action competition is here! This practice competition is open to all schools in the state of Texas and students in the 6th, 7th, or 8th grades are eligible to compete. Here are a few things to keep in mind when you register:

·         The MATHCOUNTS limitation 10 students per school is waived for this competition. Schools may bring as many competitors as they wish.

·         Registration is limited to the first 300 students.

·         No meals will be provided during the competition. Outside food is permitted, but must be self-contained, i.e. pizza, boxed lunches, etc.  The Witte Museum Market will be open and offers a wide range of food, snacks, and beverages.

·         Family and guests may purchase additional tickets to the Witte. Please note, only students are allowed in the testing area during the written portion of this competition. Family and guests will be allowed to witness the Countdown Round and Awards Ceremony only. However, feel free to explore the Witte while you wait.

The registration fee includes:

·         “Mathletes in Action” Competition (All testing rounds will be full length)

·         Competition T-Shirt (not guaranteed for late registrants)

·         Admission into the Witte Museum after the competition, including 2theXtreme:MathAlive!

The Bexar Chapter MATHCOUNTS team is seeking volunteers to help proctor and grade the exams. No math skills are required to volunteer, but volunteers must be 16 years of age or older. Volunteers are needed from 9:30 am until 2:45 pm. The competition will be held in the Mays Family Center at the Witte Museum. Light snacks and drinks will be provided for volunteers.  Volunteers will also receive free admission to the Witte, including 2theXtreme: MathAlive!, following the competition.

2017-2018 Teachers’ Workshop will be held on Saturday, November 11, 2017 at St. Mary’s University
